2.4m deep lol, with 1.5m of made up ground to get through and a mass filled conservatory footing to hoof out/cut through in the process.


made up ground can be stable enough to cut trenches without the sides collapsing......
Correct, but at that depth it requires a minimum 3 tonner and that's on max dig with the machine right on the edge of the trench.

It was not an enjoyable dig. At one stage I was perched atop of the old existing foundations with a heavy electric Hilti breaker in hand, trying to cut through the concrete whilst stopping myself being dragged by the weight of the Hilti, into a 2.4m drop below.

Sorting that doesn’t sound as if it would be rocket science to sort out though, I guess I need to convince the Building inspector.
