Could you please show the turret elbow and the screw holes as I'm trying to see how simple/hard this was

It mentions Worcester. If so the elbow doesn't have much engagement to the spigot and definately relies on the screws to hold it down. It's easy to mis-align the screws so best done case off to see they're captive.

Likewise the terminal is a shallow fit to the elbow and is secured with small self tappers as is the telescopic part.

I have worked for BG, as an independent, and for manufacturers. And have made mistakes in all of these roles (luckily non fatal). So I'll be watching out for two twits on a motorbike

For the record, while in my BG incarnation, it was drummed in that the reason to ID/ AR/ NCS if in any doubt about safety and regulation compliance, was people would jump at any opportunity to bash the Big Blue Monster. How true that advice was. A bloke was even reported smoking in his van, shows just how desperate some are, to have a dig!

people would jump at any opportunity to bash the Big Blue Monster.

That's because they're seen as one of those organisations licenced to screw, same as privatised rail companies, water utilities etc.

No-one, given the chance, would've voted for what were national services to end up like they are today. People don't bash James Dyson and he's made far more money than any freeloader at BG.

Gasright

Quite a hypocritical link to put after the death in Oxford ,the link you put involved one independent what was Oxford 10 BG guys with 2 hung out to dry ?
Let him without sin cast the first stone

Who was the wee fat guy with the expensive tool box & cheap screwdrivers??
Is he gonna get all Roger's gigs now, cause he's got his ACS & G3 ticket??

I have just watched watchdog have a dig at British gas. 1st the 20 year back boiler which looks like it is a Baxi 401 , this boiler has asbestos containing parts, & is inefficient. the BG engineer probably left the boiler stat file out when servicing the boiler the day before thus creating the over heat banging noise. I make it common practice to run the heating to temp & check rads before leaving site. For the watchdog engineer, regarding the gas valve on the baxi solo , did anyone notice that the overheat stat had been bypassed . BG engineer quite rightly issued an ID warning notice for a safety device being bypassed . I think the watchdog engineer is due for a gas safe audit.

SUPERMAN . That baxi solo is allowed to have the overheat stat bypassed and is perfectly legal and the kit comes with the boiler.

Also where is the asbestos in the baxi 401/551 /552 which that boiler could have been behind the LFE fire

I've got to agree with namsag again. I think SUPERMAN may be a BG employee, that's being lead by the nose & taking the information contained in his laptop as correct??!!

You forget how stupid the general public are, if Watchdog say so it must be true.
As a member of the GP I could quite easily take offence at that!

I actually do not watch Watchdog, (which is now a quite apt title, given that Ms Robinson presents it) but OH sometimes records it if there's anything pertinent. It is showbusiness. Anything they can sensationalise, they will.

I'm laying myself open as I haven't checked my laptop  , but isn't the overheat only allowed to be bypassed on a gravity system?

   No one would`ve bought the shares - or their Council House @ the time either  . It`s History and I took no part in it - I was and still am , as Red as Red Ken`s red bits - and so I  . Best bit is how well France have done off our desparate sell offs.
