Water pipe behind switch

Sounds a bit dodgy to me.....cant the pipe go up in a cupboard or some other more sensible route?

All of my pipes are either surface, and visible, or hidden by cupboards, boxed in. In the kitchen, I planned the runs, to be hidden behind cupboard, in the hall, I have two heating pipe drops, one either side of the door, with the boxing in carefully disguised.

I think that essentially now the norm, and probably has been for quite a long time. However, if one goes back a few decades, then pipes buried in walls (solid or 'hollow') were seemingly more common - and it's one of those which I once hit with a drill :-) (fortunately, it was a thick-walled steel pipe, so I didn't penetrate it!)

Bit hard to explain but basically no. Well I could run it visibly up the wall or box it in but that would look naff.

I presume this is an old house, with the soil pipe on the outside, and no plumbing duct.

Last time I had one, I ran the pipe inside a cupboard.
