Hello

I want to put a felt roof on my garden shed/hobby building.

If I use waterproof chipboard will it be OK if I dont get it finished in one hit due to this lousy weather at the moment.

In other words how waterproof is it?

Thanks

Personally, never seen water proof chipboard - this would imply that it was either a barrier to any moisture penetration, or at a minimum, not affected by moisture.

I'd use WBP ply - stronger and will be worry free.

Agreed, chipboard is bad enough for floors. Never ever ever use it for a roof, even a shed. Use wbp ply or osb at the very least. OSB will be slightly cheaper and will do almost as good a job as ply.

If you are going to cover it with a tarp temporarily, use 2 tarps or a big one folded in half. Water will always get through a cheapy tarpaulin.

There is water resistant chipboard for roofs (and kitchen and bathroom floors). Its not waterproof.

But I would use nothing but ply for a flat roof
