We need more more nuclear wareheads?

Sorry but it doesn't make any sense to suggest that North Korea is safer (less likely to get attacked) than a whole host of other non-nuclear states (that the mad orange baby didn't threaten to attack). The only real and lasting safety comes from getting on with people.

the regime is safe in North Korea the Kim dynasty

Kim il Jung has got the country noticed and on the world stage

and why ??

nuclear weapons

in any event u cannot un invent nuclear weapons

ask the french to get rid of there’s and they will tell you to go and do one

ask the Pakistanis or Indians. To do the same

Its not unheard of

in an increasingly unstable world 'more' seems eminently sensible to me. Wish I had one myself.

History usually repeats itself.
People like to bang on about Russia and China ect. but historically the biggest threats to Britain have been nearer to home.
The French, Germans and Spanish have tried to invade Britain a number of times.
These former enemies also have a history of using Ireland as a proxy to damage Britain.
Looks like history is in danger of repeating itself.

The biggest threat to the UK is the looney left, they hate everything about Britain, they can't wait until the Union is broken up, migration swamps us with different cultures and the EU take control of day to day business.

The threat of total annihilation by nuclear weapons seems to have acted as an effective deterrent for the last 75 years.
The big powers have resorted to using proxies to advance their geopolitical goals.

loving the irony - addressing instability by sensibly creating more weapons of mass destruction
sadly we need to be able to defend our nation, and deterring others from attacking us is a good defence

Raab is apparently going to say today...

"Britain is heading into a decade in which “democracy is in retreat”, with autocratic regimes claiming a greater slice of global wealth and military might"

Which is ironic since the government is currently putting through a bill which is the biggest attack in living memory on the freedom to protest here in the UK!
Along with sneaking in a retrograde 'reform' of local/mayoral elections (back to FPTP) that will result in more minority candidates winning.

Raab has also said, "Britain risks missing out on “growth markets” if it refuses to trade with states breaching human rights standards"
Which means that the claim that the UK will be "guided by its moral compass” is false. Beggars can't be choosers of course.

And in reality the tories quite envy the control that the states breaching human rights standards have over their populations, and would rather like that control themselves!

It's all about headlines, not capability. In order to pay for this extra 'deterrent' (along with those two rather large floating targets), the rest of the armed forces are to be slashed.

The stupidity of this statement. The Tories have been in power for over 2/3 of the last decade. Brexiters accepted that a cost could be the breakup of the union - so please stop with the lies. We are not part of the EU yet you still blaim them.

Boris knows the mind of the idiots well. Cut troop numbers but spaff it on Nuclear warheads.

Yes as the cost to move them from there will be shall we say Borisesque but we spaffed more on Test&Trace so who knows?

https://www.navylookout.com/why-relocating-trident-away-from-scotland-is-virtually-impossible/

It's a few years old but the base is still operating under the same conditions.
Who really knows though...

If/when Scotland gains it's independence there could well be a 'Guantanamo' type of arrangement...

Paying a considerable rent for the facilities?
