I've just had new dg windows fitted into existing bay (restoration job, but new frames softwood) and the fitters have left it in all in dulux trader primer.

I'd like to use Weathershield system as this is rported as best. But there is a special weathershield primer for this paint. Can I put weathershield undercoat onto the existing normal primer, or should I rub down a bit and put weathershield primer on top of exisiting primer, or would it be better now to use standard exterior gloss given that this primer is already on.

The windows look great, want to make sure the painting isn't a mess! Gets lots of sun in the morning and fairly exposed to weather.

Any advice gratefully received.
