Well done wind

Exactly. Only ones who are benefiting from all of this are the manufacturers and the energy companies.
And the public.

The LCCC takes these multi-million-pound repayments and redistributes them directly back to electricity suppliers. Under regulatory rules, these savings are passed onto businesses and households, acting as a buffer or reduction on your electricity bill.

So if this is the case why does the UK pay so much more for its electricity than most other comparable developed countries

Don't forget the 'green' tax we also have to pay for as we are a filthy polluting country .

Less than 1 per cent of world emissions

The UK requires the consumer to pay for modernisation/upkeep of infrastructure which the privatised companies have let become run down due to decades of under investment...

Many of our European cousins prefer to help fund it out of general taxation.

Plus the wholesale price in the UK is set at the highest generation rate, not the cheapest available...

Which means the gas price sets the bar, which is usually higher.

What a shame we don't have a publicly owned generation and distribution energy industry.

Somebody should have thought of that.

Nearly 50% now.

Pretty good.

You praise wind power which I agree is great as a cleaner form of energy, it is the price we are paying for it that bothers me, looks at all the businesses and households that are struggling with energy costs.
