Well done wind

Looks OK.

Good to see it says "The average UK wholesale electricity price in 2026 (year to date) was £94.22 per MWh on the market index (MID) basis."

Which is more than the windfarms get.

Think you need to check your facts about wind farms

And as usual don’t dodge the question as it gets extremely tedious dealing with your pathetic I know it all attitude but don’t need to prove it by actually stating facts

I know the contract prices for windfarms, but there is quite a wide range. So I thought the average price in the document you provided was useful and informative.

What is the fact you think I don't know?

Wind only providing 27% of load today, but Solar a very commendable 24%

Gas is less than 5%

I have solar, and have been running an electric heater today as it is fairly cold,

The European interconnects are nearly at peak load, sending us their surplus

Perhaps we should have a big battery company so we can store some of it. Oh, we did, but screwed up.. Granted, schaps, that was for car batteries.

Boris/Sunak/Shapps wouldn't keep investment going, denying 30million during a promised 100m investment because they'd got behind with the building. . £6Bn pa or so in Wind & Solar generation might have benefitted
Is there anything else we need power reliability for, hmmm....:unsure::unsure:

A quick find:
The global grid-scale battery market size was valued at USD 15.8 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow to USD 44.21 billion by 2034, exhibiting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.07% during the forecast period.

An Aussie company bought British Volt, but failed to pay.

Well, I'm blowed, This news item popped up today https://londondaily.com/us-private-...for-110m-plans-data-centre-instead-of-battery
The sun's always shining , somewhere.

Just now, wind is 32% and solar is 25%.

Pretty good for October

Only needing 7% from gas.

only 32% ! a bit disappointing considering were amidst of a giant autumnal storm

Lack of investment in the grid possibly?
Unable to connect up all of the sources? :unsure
i don't think they are designed to work during these freak events - and yes the grid probably can't handle it
