I bought an old(ish) Westwood Gazelle sit-on lawnmower. :D
It does a great job but is let down by the fact that the only way it will start is by jump starting it from my car. :(
There does not appear to be much to the wiring so I was wondering if anyone out there has a similar model.
I can see that two wires (a white and a red) come from what I presume will be a dynamo on the engine. The red goes via the ignition switch to a terminal on an electrical device bolted to the inside of the body work. Off this terminal is the positive cable to the battery. The other terminal has a brown cable coming off it which may be the negative.
The white wire is not plugged into anything and looks a bit unhealthy in that it looks like it may have overheated at some point.

Any advice welcome!!
