I’ve just been browsing the Screwfix forum and noticed something. Now I’m sure it’s just a funny coincidence and definitely not the same person.

Ariel is washing powder (the upper case letter enforces this)

You don’t have a fuse box. They went out last century. You have a consumer unit.

Manufacturers instructions are guidance only. They are frequently wrong.

Manufacturers recommendations are guidance only, and often wrong.

Funny old world isn’t it

My cousin had one in the 60's. We used to sit on it playing but one day when he was out riding it he come off it and broke both legs. That was the last of him and motorbikes. LOL

Didn't it have the distinction of being the only motorbike with a reverse gear?

Shall we send a private message to winston, err... west...geo... that they err he is being plagiarized again?

I am confused. Wasn't there a Banallsheds on this forum who would often 'respond' to someone called Winston?

Yes but that was Ban-all-sheds

It was my view that Winston1 had a large part to play in the demise of the real BAS. It would take a very twisted mind to call yourself the same on the SFX forum.

Ah yes, ban-all-sheds as opposed to banallsheds.

Yes, it would take a twisted, obsessive, petty-minded, corrupt, pathetic mind to do that on the SFX forum.

There was a Ban-all-sheds on the Screwfix forum as well also the Ultimate Handyman forum, but like on here long gone. As a dyslexic I find spelling a problem and to point out errors can be seen as rather poor when ridiculing some one for their disability. However I thought Ariel was the daughter of Triton a Greek god. All the other Ariel's are named after her. Although could be an angwl found primarily in Jewish and Christian mysticism and Apocrypha.

As to the fuse box, there is no reason why these
presentation_8d298615-b001-454d-aa2f-8de5c99441c2_1024x1024.jpg
should not be used, in the main used with semi-conductor fuses as the MCB is too slow to protect semi-conductors, as I found to my cost. As to transformer we are looking at English here, and although in electrical trade we tend to think of a wire wound device, a bridge rectifier transforms AC to DC so the question is more what is not a transformer.

Although BS 7671 has changed to wording on following manufacturers instructions, may be because of poor translation, they do need to be taken into account, and if a Worcester Bosch boiler says one should use a type A 30 mA at 40 mS RCD then one would really need to have done some reverse engineering to say that was wrong. It is the same with statements like the fuse is to protect the cable, that may be true with portable equipment, but not with fixed, it is common for a manufacturer to say what over load device is required for their product. To claim a selected item has wrong manufacturers instructions is often correct, however to make a general statement to that effect is potentially dangerous and should be coded as a C2.

My uncle had a Squariel, he was a small man and when it fell over he couldn't lift it up and had to wait for a passer-by to help him.

Do you not think there was a little similarity between BAS and Winston?

And an increase in Winstons posts since BAS left [as I perceive it]
