We've just bought and moved into a new house. It's a 2004 build with four double bedrooms across 2.5 stories. There's an Ideal Icos HE18 boiler in the kitchen and a standard Honeywell room thermostat placed centrally on the ground floor.

The two main bedrooms each have an en suite room with shower and toilets, plus there's a main bathroom with toilet, shower and bath.

What I'm interested in is two things:

1. If the hot water is 'on' is there a thermostat to switch it off when it's at the desired temperature? Not that I know how to set the desired hot water temperature...

2. General impressions of you guys based on the photos (link below) in case I should get local tradesmen in to check something out.

Thanks in advance.

The hot water stat is located in the grey cover on the cylinder.
Megaflo unvented system and all looks ok. I would not have the mains lead for the pump draped over the motor section, due to high running temps.
The boiler is probably the weak link on your system due to its reliability issues.
170 litres is ok, but would quickly be used up if all showers etc were used without allowing recovery time.
