The decorative ridge tiles that are shown on that link, and the associated names, are they unique to this manufacturer or is it a generic type of name that others might make too?

How does one decide if they would suit a type of house, or rather what my house will become. Is it only for period houses? I planned to have dentil feature eaves.

Could you please tell me what is the purpose of a "tile and half"? I dont understand what this is used for compared to regular tiles at 50% less price.
