What are you watching on TV right now?

You used to be able to go and make a cup of tea. But many of these TVs with Alexa etc. watch you and if you leave the room the adverts pause so you have to finish them when you get back.

Yeah back in the 80’s. A little symbol used to appear in the corner iirc, so you knew the adverts were about to start

But have you noticed that often if you're streaming a show with ads on your computer, and you try to look at another webpage in a different tab or window, the ads stop until you come back to the streaming page. That's what made me think that the next step will be what I said above.

Yep, and it used to appear when there was a natural break in the program, and was there to warn the engineers, on the network, so they could sync the local ads. Now, the breaks can happen in the middle of a sentence, with no warning.

I remember those. I used to think they were subliminal messages, so I recorded an episode once and spent ages trying to pause it on the flash, and it was a frog jumping across the screen!?

I noticed recently that the Young Ones on iPlayer.

I liked it, bit too much Tom Parker he was annoying, good film though.

There was a lot of him because he was his abusive manager.

Tom Parker was was a greedy b*stard.

Just caught an interesting segment on the Beeb: 'My kind of Town' is in Stromness, Orkney, where you can still see artwork along the walls of the Ness Battery.
