What do I need to google?

I have been asked (by an elderly man who is disabled following a number of strokes) if I can find out what solutions there are to allow him to see who is at the front door and then remotely open it.

He needs a portable receiver, ideally with a camera display so he can see the face of the person calling, as he can't quickly get up to look at a screen.

I realise it'll need some sort of remote-controlled latch on the door, and it all sounds expensive. But, I did say I'd look into it for him....

Where do i start looking?

Wireless video is a bit expensive.

If he watches TV a lot then a PIR may be able to be wired to the SCART input to change the TV to the SCART input automatically. CCTV camera is cheap and easy enough.

Electric door release is easy enough, although they often don't meet insurance company requirements.

Thanks for the info. So would this do what I want? it appears to let him see who is at the door and will allow him to unlock the door remotely.
