Morning walk with our friend and her dogs. Sad news: one of the girl pups has died. Just wasn’t feeding and went downhill fast. They were all checked over by the vet only a few days ago too. It’s not uncommon and she has had it happen before. Her vet says there is a name for it - fading puppy syndrome - and he says pups are not truly out of the woods until 10 weeks old. All the girls were spoken for and they’ve now got to tell the potential owner that he can have one of the boys if he wants. We’ve got first dibs on any of them and we want a girl but if it turned out that only boys were left, we might decide not to have one. Will have to see how we feel if it comes to that. Still sad though and our friend is quite upset about it.
