What have you been doing today?

Thanks, fellas.

13.5 hours in A&E!

The ECG is good, bloods are good, CT brain scan is good too.

Toe was X-rayed and it is good.

The diagnosis was Vasovagal Syncope.

Get too hot, your blood vessels dilate and move blood away from your organs in order to cool you down. But that causes a loss of blood to the brain, thus causing loss of consciousness.

No bleed on the brain detected, no need for echo.

I must say I've had lots of hot showers, and while some of them have made me feel a little nauseous, I've never lost consciousness this way before.

That’s a great diagnosis. Glad everything turned out to a good outcome.

Nice one mate.

Great, that's the best result. Ha - lucky first guess ;) . That's why I don't wash - that hot water's bad for you! I was afraid the brain scan would show something up.
If prone to the pressure drop, you'll probably find you can get a head-swim if you stand up in a hurry.

There's a manoeuvre you can do to help. Forgotten what it's called. Tensing arm muscles helps, but if it's enough that you want to sit down then laying down with raised legs is the thing.

Fitted an outside socket to the garden. Nothing special and it was a secondhand one I had knocking about. Just fitted it on the garage wall, drilled through the wall and connected it into the connector block in the cable. Plugged my new leaf sucker/mulcher and picked up all the twigs and leaves on the lawn that the pup was eating!

Has a couple of hours of aggro when I saw a post on Nextdoor showing my mate the builder/plasterers van parked on someone’s drive. It had been there since yesterday morning and they wanted it moved or they were going to carry out suggestions people had made - smash windows/slash tyres etc. I tried getting hold of my mate but it was going straight to answerphone. I got in contact with the owner and went round and chained it up through the wheels and left the keys with his mum as he was going out. He told me she had dementia and told me to tell her to put the padlock keys in his bedroom. Finally got in touch with my mates wife who told me he'd gone golfing overnight with a mate that lives nearby. She asked where it was parked, I told her, she said her Auntie June lives down that street so the plum had parked on the wrong drive! Went back to take the chains off, the blokes dementia mum didn’t know what t f I was talking about when I asked for the keys. I reminded her to go in her sons bedroom which she did, came out with the keys and said "I can only find these". Took my chains off and went home. Finally my mate came off the course and when he got his phone he called me. Said he’d been parking there for years but it was early so he was probably still half asleep! Anyway, all sorted now and he owes me another plastering job. ;)

Edit: He's back home now and has just phoned me up to thank me. He tells me he was two houses out and he has Parked there plenty of times. Reckons he had a brain fart yesterday morning!
