What have you been doing today?

Over the allotment turning the beds over. Gasping for a hot drink so got the kettle on. No cup or milk or tea though - I took the cup home the other week to sanitise it. I found a stick of instant coffee and used an old coffee tin for a cup. DIY at it finest. :giggle:

Rowan played his debut for Lancashire today versus Durham.

He assisted a couple of tries and scored one himself.

The final score was 77-5 to Lancs.

We are just waiting for the lads to scoff their post match meal then there will be a presentation where, amongst other things, the debut players will receive a Lancashire tie.

Proud as anything this afternoon!

Bit embarrassing. Lancs are scheduled to play Cheshire, which he used to play for.

Yes, he is.

Loved every minute.

Taught the kids stuff (think it was the other way round with rugby!), did loads of outdoorsy stuff with them like surfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, mountain biking, camping, hill climbing and of course rugby!

Trying to give stuff to charity shops. Mrs Mottie had a load of stuff from her mums house, couldn’t get any places to look at it, let alone take it. Lamps, ornaments, dinner sets etc. Only place I could donate locally is the Sue Ryder shop in Hornchurch and they will only take stuff from pre-approved existing gift aid donators. Luckily I’m on their books so they (begrudgingly) took some stuff from me the other week. Today - no! "Staff shortages". How f'cking short of staff do you have to be to take something and just put it in the store/sorting room. I’ll try again next week but if no luck, it’ll have to go to the tip which will be a bloody shame. These charity shops are a becoming a bit of a joke lately - have you seen the prices some of them ask for donated items?
What a mission that was! I phoned half a dozen shops in Hornchurch and either too busy, too full, too short staffed, try again later in the week, blah blah blah. Eventually the St Francis Hospice shop in Elm Park said to bring it down. I did and they were very grateful. Easy to park right outside the shop in a loading bay too. They will be our go to in future when we want to donate stuff. I’m glad it went to them, they are one of the charities we have a monthly standing order donation with too.

Transferred some the proceeds from the workshop sale into a high interest account yesterday, wouldn’t let us transfer more than a certain amount so did that. Tried to send some more today and they froze our account! Had to phone them up and give all sorts of details down to my shoe size before they would unblock it. Got it unblocked and sent some more money but told them we'll be doing the same tomorrow and not to block again but they said it’s just random - computer either says yes or blocks it. Great system!

Had my blood test last week for PSA on my active surveillance. Last time it was 4.6. Today, I got the call telling me it’s now 3.7. Pukker!
