Had the AA out to replace my car battery. £215 all in.
What was it, a Tesla?
tbh I could have gone and bought myself a replacement and fitted it, but as the years roll by I seem to be less and less inclined to do these things compared to when I were a lad.
I was a bit peeved as the price range of suggested batteries from them was £160 fitted to £250. He didn't have the cheapest two in the van (and was decent enough to show me) so rather than face any more hassle, I just went with it.
It's a decent brand and tbh I wouldn't want to put a cheap as chips battery in.
Ouch! 096 Varta from Tanya, £132, next day delivery.
Cooking a roast. Butterflied lamb shoulder, roast spuds, roast carrots, cauliflower cheese, greens and yorkie pudding. Wine, to keep me going while I do all that. 
Yeah I get that. However I weigh everything up these days re doing it myself vs getting someone else to do it. Although I kind of knew it was the battery and that the alternator was ok, the AA guy confirmed this with his fancier software. Old battery taken away, new battery fitted and tested. Me not getting my hands dirty. So for me, although I was hoping it would be £160 all in, I just opted to go for it and get it done.
I make you right. I’ve been in the motor trade all my working life. We bought a new car a few months ago with a 5 year warranty. I took out a service plan to cover the warranty period. CBA with doing it myself these days.

I always wondered what mechanics did regards their own cars and if these service plans were a con or not. I feel better now having one.
Came out bloody luvverly. Made my own gravy too with the juices from the meat, garlic, thyme, red wine and vegetable scraps. Popped into the doctors to pick up a blood test form for Mrs Mottie and I thought while I was there, I’d see if I could make an appointment for the Doc to look at my knee that I’ve been having trouble with (painful, clicking and crunching) for at least 6 months. It was 9.55am. They gave me a 10.00am appointment there and then! Doc looked at it, emailed me a list of exercises to carry out and put in a request for an x-ray. Further treatment depending on the results of the x-Ray. Never had such a quick appointment in my life. Right time, right place I suppose.
You got a face to face, just like that? Here, the F2F are very difficult to get, you are lucky to get, a near useless, phone appointment. The surgery I've moved to, at least is much better for my monthly blood appointments, ready for my hospital appointment - I can arrange them online, a month ahead now. I have my hospital appointment, get my next date, then can go straight online, and fix up a blood appointment at my local surgery. All very slick!
At my old surgery, they didn't put blood appointments online at all, and you could only book them in the two weeks before, often as not, I couldn't get a suitable appointment at all - I would end up having to have my bloods done, at my hospital appointment, then having to wait around, up to 4 hours, on the results turning up.
