What have you been doing today?

Just been for a coffee and a bacon sarnie over Damyns Hall, our local aerodrome. Quite a bit of action going on with gyrocopters and a stunt team having a practice. Nice way to spend an hour.

There's a first time for everything they say.
Well, today was my time to be stuck in a car wash.
It's one of those that you put your car in neutral and it's pulled through by a conveyor under the driver side wheels.
Started off fine then suddenly stopped.
Quite eerie just sitting there in silence with nothing but the sound of dripping water.
The guy appeared from a side door, picked something up in front of my car, then disappeared.
Suddenly the thing whirred into action again. The (very) sudden change from silence to noise would have made a lesser person jump.
A few secs later it stopped again.
Could see the guy in my rear view just outside chatting on his mobile.
He walked in and asked me to reverse out of the guide roller. He went away, again I was sitting in silence.
He appeared again, asked me to drive forward back in front of the guide roller. He went away, nothing.
He appeared again, asked me if I was ensuring my car was in neutral and not braking. 'Yes' was my response.
He went off again, back on his mobile.
He came back in, moved the roller thingies off my car, then off he went.
Success! It roared into action and the cleaning cycle was completed.

Needless to say I got out and gave the car a good check over. No harm done.

Joking aside, some folk would not have enjoyed the experience, can't say I did. And the reversing out of then back into the roller thingy would create a slight challenge for some.

Been to a family gathering birthday bash today, not touched a drop of alcohol, everyone said how fantastic I look. Nothing new there as everyone always tells me that but I do seem to have an extra spring in my step. I am more alert and sharp as a razor.

I expect before you arrive at a family bash, the excitement in the air waiting for you to arrive will be palpable. Then, if you call to advise you can't make it, the rest of the bash will be like a funeral wake, with your family in literal tears because they can't see, hear, touch and smell you.

Doubt it

Exactly as it is
