I'm just watching an epic film I'm not seen or even heard of before 'Is Paris Burning', 1966 in B&W, very good it is too, on Talking Pictures. Its an international film, mostly in French, but very well dubbed. A near the end of the war film, set mostly in Paris and the film producers seemed to have very good access in Paris to make the film.

In a similar vein, 'The Train'. Burt Lancaster trying to stop the Germans stealing art works from the French. Some real and quite spectacular train wrecks.

Last night I happened to watch 'Breath' on TV. I'm not a patient film or series watcher, but it managed to catch and hold my interest to the end. I got the impression that it was a true story, or at least based on fact - the true ones tend to be the best.

Nicholas Cage in Next. Quite entertaining for an easy chill out. Type of film that could be/have been made into a TV series.

WOW, just seen a great film on Netflix, based on a true story. Young Pakistani boy growing up in Luton in the 80's with aspirations of being a writer, his life changes forever after hearing Bruce Springsteen for the first time. Soundtracks not bad either. Shades of 'East meets West' but with better music.

Watching a documentary called Propaganda... The art of selling lies.
I have always been interested in the subject and how it is still being used and abused.

Just watched both episodes of The Great Train Robbery, (2013), with Jim Broadbent playing the lead detective.
Quite interesting but easy watching for a mid-week slice of TV. Think it was BBC iPlayer because I don't remember any adverts.

..and I watched it last night. It was very good, both episodes. I soon realised that many/ all of the locations were in Leeds, supposed to be London. They used Leeds Bridge, in and outside of the Town Hall, Park Square with Coots Bank in the background. Rather oddly, the train was progressing along the wrong side of the track for some reason in Part 1, but seemed to be on the correct track once they began robbing it.
