16 until 10am, 18 through the day. I might nudge it up for dinner, then the wifi stat goes in the living room, and the gas fire goes on at a little below 1Kw output, often that is too much.
Then an hour before bed, I tell Alexa to turn the electric blanket on, to warm the pre-warm the bed.
Now I have access to some sensible figures for instantaneous gas consumption figures, I can easily see what the gas fire regime is saving us. Consumption and cost falls to about 1/3, once we settle on an evening, in the living room, with just the gas fire on. The heat from the fire, fools the thermostat, into shutting the CH off.
Blimey, we have ours to come on at 21.5 in the morning. It doesn’t drop lower than about 19 overnight.

It's usually left on its bracket, on the side of the stairs, in the hall. Since I installed it, I think the boiler has only needed to fire once during the night, to hold the temperature above the set 16C.
Whilst we were away, a couple of weeks ago, it was set back to 8C cay and night, and never fired at all, until programmed to, on the Saturday we were due home. It used more gas that day, reheating the house, than I have ever recorded before - I guess heating up the fabric of the house.

It's basically thermostat tennis in our household, she walks past ... 21°C, I walk past ... 18°C.

Anyone ever bought one of those heated gilets? As I WFH permanently I'm thinking of getting one but it's a bloody minefield out there! Amazon etc is full to the brim with who knows what!

Trying to buy! The moving head of my (latest) IP cam came adrift, last week, from the small, drilled and threaded spindle, upon which it rotates left and right. It was supposed to be held onto the shaft, by a tiny machine screw, locating into a thread. Who ever had put it together, had used a too short screw, for the job, it only caught a couple of threads, I could find a longer screw, with the same thread, but I botched it together with a longer one, but a different thread.
In the meantime, I ordered a mixed box, of watch and glasses repair screws and nuts, which arrived this morning. Unfortunately, even the largest of them was too small a diameter. However I now have loads of tiny screws now for fixing glasses, and watches.
Next trick, will be to visit a watchmaker, to see if they might have a matching screw just a few mm longer, of if the can identify the thread, so I can order one.

I have to confess in my old place with the ex. I would take the wheel off, turn it slightly and push it back on, so that it over red 5 degrees. Still didn't stop her. She thought (and probably still does) that if you turn it to make it warms up quicker.
My heating control system, does heat quicker, the further up you wack it, but it stops exactly at the temperature you set.

Just a bit of shopping a/t one of the local towns, Iceland in particular. Bill came to £53, and it said we had managed to save £18. The £18 saved by buying several of the three for £10 offers, and making use of the over 60's Tuesday discount. That's our freezer restocked for the most part, through to January. Better yet, it qualified for their free delivery, which will arrive between 19:18 and 20:18 this evening. This my/our first ever food delivery, by any company.
