What have you bought today?

Having everyone round ours for Christmas so went and bought our frozen Turkey today and a ham roasting joint. Reading the instructions on the Turkey, it says not to defrost at room temperature but to defrost in the refrigerator for 106 hours! I worked it out that I need to take it out of the freezer and put it in the fridge on Saturday night if I’m going to cook it on Christmas Day.

I thought you normally soaked it in a brine overnight, or am I getting you mixed up with Mick, Gavin's dad?

Yeah, Mick Shipman and Pete Sutcliffe soaked theirs in brine. This one had already been soaked. (y)

It’ll take up a fair bit of space in our freezer for 4 days so I think I’ll run it round my mums house and put it in her fridge until Christmas Eve.

Not often i see a cylinder head all shiny and sparkly- usually saw 'em when they tracked by after dropping on the shakeout; covered in black sand and steaming like a devil's doings. A pig of a job to drag off for a q/c check, especially first thing of a morning.

2 bags of spuds, 2 bags of carrots, 2 bags of parsnips, 2 bags of sprouts and 1 red cabbage at Sainsbury’s. Total price £1.35. I only have them as backups in case the couple of hundred of quids worth and hours of hard labour for the veg that I’ve grown myself turns out shyte when I go over the allotment to harvest them on Christmas Eve. :ROFLMAO:
