Getting four courses here each night. Tonight I had mixed Mediterranean vegetables as an appetiser, then Farfalle pasta with salmon and lemon sauce, then perch in breadcrumbs on a bed of lentils for main followed by the cheeseboard. Quite filling.

A perch? What was that like

Only a piece of one. Very nice. For some reason I was expecting a load of bones but didn’t get any.
Exactly what I thought, I know we used to eat perch, but that was a long time ago. I am in Italy myself in a few months so will try it out.

I thought this was a food thread?

Fnarr, fnarr......

Joking aside, I went on hols once and I seemed to cross paths every day with a bloke from Brum who was always telling me he was looking forward to "some nookie with the Missus tonight.....don't get it much at home, but here, she's on fire..."

Each time I met him, things got more explicit. In the end, I told him I was pleased he was having a great time on holiday, but I didn't want to know about his personal life.

That's how the Italians eat though, or atleast in restaurants and hotels consisting of..

Apertivo - pre dinner drinks & snacks
Antipasto - meats cheeses etc
Primo ,first course - pasta, risotto, soup etc
Secondo - main course - meat, fish veggy opt.
Contorno - Side Dish Vegetable
Insalata "Salad" served with Secondo
Formaggi e frutta - Cheese & Fruit
Dolce - Desert
Caffè e digestif or coffee and a digestive biscuit, it's supposed to aid digestion.

I couldn't afford that every night!

I'm happy with a pizza, ice cream and a draught lager.

I’m feeling cheated with just the four of them!

Another 4 courses tonight.
Seafood salad - prawns and squid included
Pasta with basil pesto, asparagus and flaked toasted almonds
Swordfish in a herb crust
Cheese and….jam!

Going to have to keep this up when I get home. ;)
