Dunno what you call it in your house but we call it Pasta mash-up in ours. Basically, fry off any vegetables in the fridge - I used Red, yellow and green peppers, mushrooms, red onion, garlic and broccoli. Boil up some Penne pasta, combine the lot, add some red pesto and serve with a good sprinkling of Parmesan cheese on top. Personally I like it with chorizo but Mrs Mottie insists on a meat-free Monday.

Spaghetti carbonara. Following on from Quiche Lorraine for lunch and a bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast.

Cottage pie, chips, peas, and gravy. The pie, from the same batch made, as last time, where the mash was sloppy. Today, it was absolutely fine, so we are wondering what the difference was. Last time it was not quite fully thawed, before cooking so cooked longer, an hour. This time, taken out the freezer yesterday, and cooked for just 40 minutes.

Not sure if I’d have chips with it. But the rest sounds good

I thought the whole point of cottage pie was that the potatoes are included, therefore, no need for chips.
But, if anybody wants to have chips with their potatoes, go for it.

We've/ I've always had chips with cottage pies, and gravy. Avril never wants the gravy with it, or with chips.

Met some friends for a few in The Beehive. Were going to go to the Iti down the road, but closed for technical reasons. :?: Diverted to the local Thai, but just closing as we got there. Luckily the Indian opens later, so a very nice chicken rogan josh with pilau and naan saved the day for me.

We're giving lamb shank a try today, for Sunday lunch. Lamb shank, yorkie, roast, and mashed potato, peas, carrots, green beans, and of course the gravy.
