I see standard, 70%, 100%, 150% and 200% extra, but what is the base line?

Funnily enough my new wall clock a few years back was losing time and when I checked it advised zinc carbon only. Started using them and it hasn't missed a beat.I think the baseline is the old zinc-carbon batteries that nobody uses any more.

there can't really be a baseline ( a mAh capacity) for alkaline batteries as they are very load dependant, half the load and the same battery may last 3 or 4x longer.I see standard, 70%, 100%, 150% and 200% extra, but what is the base line?
The voltage is slightly higher.Funnily enough my new wall clock a few years back was losing time and when I checked it advised zinc carbon only. Started using them and it hasn't missed a beat.

was too late, by time it was flashing, it would not let the cats in.
Funnily enough, as you’re probably aware, zinc batteries behave poorly in battery operated thermostatsFunnily enough my new wall clock a few years back was losing time and when I checked it advised zinc carbon only. Started using them and it hasn't missed a beat.

actually shows battery voltage, but I have no idea as to how long a pair of cells will last when showing 2.59 volts, they will need changing soon, and that make needs a screwdriver to change them.
B&M do Panasonic ones, 8 for £1. We end up using them for everything. However It's increasingly difficult to find them for sale, Home bargains and Lidl have stopped the Kodaks and JCB's some time ago
Poundland also do Kodak zinc batteries - not sure if zinc-carbon or zinc-chlorideWe have a number of clocks in the house using AA's and the first call for a replacement is always a Zinc due to their longer life. Added to them often being 12-16 for the same price as 8 Alkalines it makes perfect sense to me.

So the cells bought yesterday are likely already 18 months old (03/35).• Duracell Plus / Standard Alkaline (AA, AAA, C, D, 9V): Guaranteed for up to 10 years in ambient storage thanks to Duralock power-preserve technology.
• Duracell Coppertop / Industrial / Procell: Guaranteed for up to 12 years in storage.
