what is the pitch of my roof

So what tiles are to be used? Lots available for pitch below 17 degrees?
BMI redland regent. Suitable for pitches down to 12.5 degrees.

For some reasons, initial stages with builders and building regulations inspector was talking of 15 degrees. So that was drilled into my head.

As it progressed, someone said best to keep it above 15. And whilst the brickie did this, he kept saying it's 17. And that 17 is best as safer.

So I was just holding him to that. I wasn't being padantic or moaning or asking for anything like others have suggested. In fact I've not complained once. Maybe I have now about the pattern of the brickwork. But that was a good spot from this forum.

I was just double checking what he said against trigonometry.

Now , since all this. The roofers have said the brickwork will still be adjusted once the roof is put on. So that's the end of my worries.

My only worry in this entire project is making a fatal error - Something that cannot be fixed.

I sleep easy knowing other bits can be tweaked or adjusted if not right.

A velux wants to be at 15deg as a minimum so that's likely where that number has come from, but withn reason the steeper the better

@Old tool guy Nah, you offered some irrelevant conjecture on the pitch and said you'd not work for this guy, wise-ass more like.
Wasn’t irrelevant. My point as … you should research the contractor, check references, look at past work, and once you find a contractor you trust, give him clear explanation of what you want and then stay out of the way. Don’t go out there arguing and carping about 1* of pitch.

In post 30 KAM explained how it should work.

I'd query Bob the Builder himself if he built the monstrosity shown at the start of the thread.

It's easy to say stand back and leave them to it - until it's your house they're making a mess of.

The end result looks OK though, got there by whatever means in the end.

I guess that's a waste of brickwork but it is what it is.
Render just the part that's ugly maybe.. Design feature?

apart from the highlighted courses' bond pattern!

Staggering! I doubt most would notice though. Was sitting in a friend's newbuild garden, their garage brickwork directly aligns above and below the DPC. Looks really odd. Must have decided they didn't want it the way the groundwork lot had built it, I guess to align with lintels further up. Or I'm reading too much into it and they just couldn't be bothered to look.

A reason was provided.
At the point the pattern shifts that inch, is where the structural beam is , so the brick work "had to sit deeper in?!" Or something along those lines. And then he said a slither of a brick wouldn't have looked nice and this was the best finish.
Still didn't make complete sense but at least it was a conscious decision. The pattern above from there does continue.
Tbh now it's pointed really well , I struggle to see the shift
