I have seen two or three around but this time I had a camera so able to take a snap.
Did not look expensive from outside but J reg with built in CD player maybe they are? It was automatic and seemed odd to have plastic dash but CD player. My J reg car we though good to have a cassette player never mind CD as standard.

So any info as to what it is?

Bang on - and they are quite expensive. ISTR a figure of around 18k imported new with a 1300 engine, but can't see any new prices to confirm that, although wiki has some stuff and there's a specialist uk importer if you google.

Never driven one, but they certainly catch the eye. I really like the look.

I saw one for the first time a couple of years ago and thought it was a '50s car, but somehow the interior didn't look right.

Nissan Figaro.
It was built by a Nissan special projects group called Pike Factory.
Made for Japan only in 1990. Originaly 8000 made then another 12000 due to demand.
20000 total.
You had to enter a lottery and "win" the option to buy one.
All UK ones are grey imports.
Me & a friend spent 6 months trying to find a good one for a woman we know.
Many bodged / untidy / quickly sprayed ones about.
All were turbocharged / Automatic / Air-con.
The original CD player is desirable as they all fail.

I think the japanease have had a go at copying the Trabant.....fastback....

Agree, Nissan, only made for about 1 year, based on Micra. 50s throw back styling to give the "cuteness" for the ladies. Saw a cappuccino a while back tiny thing it was!

Now who can remember Honda's little S800

i do. nice car but i think i would struggle to fit in it comfortably.
