What is this in the end of my radiator

Hi I live in a new build house coming up to 5 years old and the living room radiator has a tiny leak and I noticed all this gunk in the end of it.

What is it and how do I fix it?

Any help would be great.

From the middle of the rad or from a fitting at an end?
A hole in the rad means rrplacement

What you have is a rad vent plug that is leaking slightly. Turn rad off at both valves and remove the plug, being careful to catch the little water that may come out. Clean and remake the joint using a new o ring / or washer, or just wrap some ptfe round the thread and screw it back in.

Thanks for your help 45years. To turn it off do I just turn the trv to blue and turn the other end. Where would I get the o ring or washer from plump world / screwfix?.
