This is on the filling loop of a house that has been let for 18 months and has now been vacated. It wasn't there before - I assume it's a pressure vessel to augment the internal one in the combi boiler, but I haven't seen one before and Google has let me down.
Bleedin' typical! Fit an unauthorised component with no care for doing a proper job.
Thanks for that feedback. What's it's function, is it to extend the time between re-pressurising? If so that implies a leak somewhere. Is it worth Ebaying?
Ah! That might explain it because it is under contract maintenance by Homeserve, and there was a breakdown not long ago. Perhaps this is what they do as a 'quick fix'? Thanks.
The attached pressure vessel is functional but not pretty. For change out of £30 you can get one and a bracket from screwfix.
If I was in the situation you are now I would just box around that one for the time being. I don't consider it good practice to use a flexi on a heating system [It ain't proper plumbing!] but if the quality of the flexi is within the working tolerance of your heating system it won't do any harm.
