What is this?

Hi Everyone

I have an unusual object in my possession, that I picked up at a yard sale, that no one seems to be able to identify.

It is some kind of a tool(I believe), having a bore at one end, and a dial at the other, and plugs in to a 110vt. outlet.

It is totally made of hard black plastic(c. 8" long x 2" round), and has no markings at all on it.

I have a photo of it on my desk top, but can’t figure out how to paste it here.

I have tried to make it’s photo, my avatar, but this doesn’t seem to work either.
