Not quite true, Every part of a Yew is poisonous apart from the red fleshy berry that covers the seed.
To be explicit, The seed is poisonous, the only part safe to eat is the red fleshy berry covering the seed.

I stand corrected,don't know how poisonous they are though I can remember climbing an old one as a kid,I suppose it will kill me in the end.
