I need to replace a central heating pump but I'm unsure which one to get. The existing one is British Gas Multihead II. It has "manufactured by Potterton Myson Ltd" written on it and the following table:

3 1800 110 0.48
2 1200 74 0.32
1 700 44 0.19

There is a heading above each of the columns but it's too small to read.

It seems that a Grundfos UPS 15/50 or 15/60 are popular choices but I've no idea what the difference is and how i check that it's compatible with the existing one.

Thanks for any advice.

you wont notice any difference between the two really. i doubt you would have any problems if you fitted either, certainly not with the 60.

is it going on the system or on a combi?

Sorry, should have said this is an open vented system, Y plan, boiler is a Ideal FF50, fitted in 2000.

Is the 60 just a higher head that the 50? There are 8 rads, mostly large ones all fitted in the 70s and it's a 4 bed semi.

yeh it is to do with the head. what difference it has in the real world i dont know. ive never had any problems fitting either on any system similar to yours.

perhaps someone else could advise you on that bit :D

Tut tut Nickso do you not realise the difference in stoshametric pressure caused by the gyroscopic centrafuge motors on the 60 as opposed to the 50.
