I have recently chased out some plaster to add some extra light switches. Now a few questions bearing in mind i will be getting a plaster in to re skim the room but want to keep the cost as low as possible.

1. How to i hold the new cables to the wall?
2. Should i fill in the the channels and if so with what?

Use plastic capping to cover the cables, this is fixed to the wall with capping nails. then replaster over the chased out channel (less plaster to use if the capping is covering the cables). Using capping will also make it easier if cables need to be pulled through at a later date.
Hope that helps.
