What to do with crazy telephone wiring?

BT cable is cw1308 which comes in 2 3 4 6 10 20 32 50 60 80 100 pair commonly. Other numbers of pairs are available though.

For most telephone wiring, upto four pair is all that you'll see.

BT seem to commonly use 3 pr most places.
