I am connecting an aco drain into the pipe work that can be seen in the pic below. Can I just check that what I plan on doing is correct?

Fill the void with pea gravel and sit pipework on that. Connect up to aco and once connected, fill the remainder of the hole with MOT Type 1.

I am installing an Indian stone patio on top of the hardcore once compacted all over the area

In the bottom of the hole is also the clay soil pipe that connects to the sewer run (can be seen running across) I’m a bit concerned about compacting hardcore around this pipe incase it breaks. Is it best to put a big chunk of let’s say 200mm hardcore in (on top of the pea gravel) before compacting?

Cheers

As long as you can get a cushion of 100mm+ pea gravel on top of the pipe, you will be ok. Pea gravel, as long as it is contained, is a good sub-base.

Great thanks

On top of the pea gravel would i just fill with lots of MOT type 1 hardcore and bring to level required for patio sub base? Cheers
