When to water grass seed?

Is it right that you should only water grass seed in the evening when it's sundown? I watered last night but the patch looks very dry now. There is direct sunlight on it.

it doesnt matter when you water grass seed, the are no leaves to get burnt.

I would definitely water today otherwise any germinating will dry out

The advantage of watering in the evening is that less of the water evaporates and is lost, saving on your water bill etc. The grass seed doesn’t care.

OK so I missed your posts I will water now. If its a dry day tomorrow is morning and evening fine or should it be morning afternoon and evening?

I’d be surprised if it needs watering three times a day, even in sunny Antrim.
But we can’t see it!

Watered at 7pm last night and dry at 11am this morning
