I need to buy half a dozen of these screws to screw L-brackets into a metal leg on a campervan rock and roll bed. They're 15mm in length with quite a wide head. I think they're called self-tapping??

I've tried B&Q and a local DIY shop and searching online but not having any joy :(

Any tips hugely appreciated!

You are correct in that they are 'self tapping screws'.

With the extra (self drilling) tip on the end I think they are
BAYPOLE SELF TAPPING SCREWS

Note that these are self drilling, but never seem to work for me so I always first drill a pilot hole with a HSS drill bit. If metal is thicker I make larger pilot hole (but always smaller in diameter than the screw).

Cheers SFK the Baypole ones look spot on don’t they. I’ll give them a go! It’s really quite thin metal so reckon they’ll go through.

Thanks for the links.

As Woody says, generally known as "wafer heads" or just "wafers". Used in millions by dry liners for metal framing. Come on self drilling and self tapping varieties. If you can't find any PM me and I'll send you some - we have millions of them kicking around the job
