Hi all, new to forum 8)

Can anyone help on where to buy an offcut of limestone cheaply. I want it for the base of a fireplace we have just created (a rectangular hole)

A local stone supplier (shop) can supply Jerusalem white gold honed flag (priced £119.00 per sq m ) which they can cut to size and polish the front edge for around £80.

But I surely I can get an offcut from a builder/quarry/builder's merchant??

Any ideas anyone please?
