Hello,
I'm in the process of organizing some estimates from local plumbers for the removal of the old back boiler and associated gubbins from a house we've just purcahsed. Before they come around, I'd like to get a bit more genned up on what's what.....
Firstly, my old man just had condensing boiler fitted and he's over the moon with it. One thing that jumps out at me is that he has a "land drain" on it which goes out the wall and into the ground outside. Does this preclude the installation of such a boiler upstairs?
Secondly, what's a good boiler these days? My Dad's is a Valiant which seem to be highly rated and I've always understood Worcester Bosch to be a good boiler (although reading some of the threads on here makes me wonder....). We've got 3 Vokera Lineas in the family and they've all been troublesome.... I know everyone has their favourites and vice versa, but I'm just looking for a bit of consensus. My local plumbers merchants are always pushing Sime boilers down my throat but they seem a bit "RavenHeat" for my liking.....
Many Thanks.
