This is a picture of the bulb mount for the hood of my hob. I don't have the manual. The screw thread is on the outside as seen but smooth on the inside.

Can anyone tell the type of bulb that is required?

Does this mechanism hold two?

Are you certain there is not an internal thread & what you are looking at is just from the moulding?
What is the make/model of the hood.

There is no make or model on the hood, though the oven and hob are NEFF.

Let me clarify that external thread you see is just that, it is smooth on the inside. However I managed to poke my index finger in about 15mm and felt a smaller diameter thread.

From your description you need 2 x 40W mes (minature edison screw) oven lamps.

"MES" lamps are never mains voltage, they are "Torch lamps".
These are likely to be SES (Small Edison Screw)

Got the correct bulbs from B&Q, they are standard hood bulbs, screwed in perfectly.

Taylorwocities, thank u for the caution.
