Whirlpool AWM1404/04 slow drum rotation on spin

Hi.

Hope some tech person can help.
Our Whirlpool AWM1404/04 works ok untill it goes to spin mode.
It then only slowly rotates it never picks up enough speed to dry the load.
The pump is emptying the water & other than not spin drying correctly it works fine.
I am a TV tech by trade so should be able to recognise & replace any faulty electrical component on pcb etc that an expert may ask me to change.
