Game rules:

1. The boiler stated must be one that is serving your home i.e. domestic situation. Commercial setups not permitted.
2. Fuel source can be anything, gas, oil etc.
3. If you don't know the exact installation date, give it your best guess. Don't add years to win, you're only kidding yourself ;)
4. The boiler must be in a functioning state and used on a regular basis.

I'll start:

Boiler: Stelrad Group Ideal Mexico.
Age: 34 years (property built around 1986, original boiler.)

Had my Mexico until a couple of years ago, it was installed in 1982.

But the boiler at my previous house is apparently still going and that's a Baxi Bermuda. It was installed in 1968.

When I first moved into my house around 10 years back, I arranged British Gas cover for the central heating including annual safety check. First year, everything fine. Second year, engineer said 'can't get parts for these any more. I'll need to arrange for your cover to be downgraded to a basic annual check, we can't support/maintain the boiler due to part unavailability.' He then helpfully offered me a new boiler with £x off, free cover etc ... funny that. My cover was duly downgraded. Strangely enough a quick Google told me parts were still readily available. Third year, engineer came out and said 'good old workhorses these, go on for years as they basically have 3 moving parts and aren't packed with sensors and bits of plastic.' I innocently asked 'oh right, and can parts still be had for them?' The reply was 'yes.'

It does the job for me so if it keeps passing its annual service and safety check I'm in no immediate rush to change it.

What's the oldest combi boiler that you've come across that's in perfect working order?

yes Ive got a Stelad Ideal boiler -not sure of age of if its a Mexico

I used to have an older heating engineer, now retired who used to say every year: dont buy a new boiler, your old boiler is fine, its not that efficient but new ones only have a short lifespan.

I will check on age and model and some back

My old boiler is 52,

Can also do the washing up, cleans the house and gets the kids to school.
Nothing can beat good old British technology..

Only Joking I could not do with out her

I had a glowworm Boiler that was in the house before 1982 when the house was purchased by my now partner, it was an excellent boiler , very reliable and when it brokedown in around 2016 , it was only because of parts availability that it was not possible to repair, At least thats what the repairman/corgi plumber said, who had been coming to the house since my partner moved in, so was trusted.

House that I lived in until 1987. Had the original boiler from when the house was built in the 1930's.
