It's the previous site (I think) of one of the firestations at Woodford Aerodrome, one of the manufacturing sites of A V Roe and later Bae.
Avro was later swallowed up by Hawker Siddley.
In 2017 Avro Ltd. went into administration when Monarch collapsed.
Sad looking round the site now, most of the runways (which I am told are silky smooth)and taxiways have been ripped up and a massive housing development is underway.
The best thing is the current (or should that be last) incarnation of the fire station now houses the Avro Heritage Trust.

Could have built a housing estate with it's own runway.......no garages....instead they would have a hanger.....
