Revenge killing. Similar thing happened back in '01 but the guy(s) didn't die..

I certainly did not know this fellow and have no way to assess the type of person he was, but he was not known to the Police from reports so he could not have been that bad a person, and no-one really deserves to be murdered, everyone has a family. I was brought up that you do not speak ill of the dead, and you certainly do not joke about someones death, it is simply bad taste.

I thought the Moderators were supposed to filter out offensive material.
Well Stulz - It don't get much more offensive than that.
Perhaps its time for the Moderators to wake up and monitor this otherwise fantastic ides sharing site.
It has got to return to what it was intended to do - Help us DIY'ers solve problems the professionals have all the answers to, and not to give these NUMPTIES a platform to spout their perverted nonesense.

Come On Moderator 3 - surely that is your job.
I have read the rules and there does not seem to be any instructions to Alert the Moderators or Admin of offensive material.
Just how do we inform the Moderators or Admin other than posting a reply and it appears the Moderators don't read all the post, so just how we are to help Police this fantastic site. I would be interested to Know.

hysteresis, may I ask if you knew the poor man that was murdered?
If you did not then by saying the comment which that fellow posted was offensive is ridiculous. How can you be offended by this? I certainly do agree it was in poor taste and perhaps the author should have been encouraged to edit it or otherwise change it so it was not in bad taste, but I do think you have over-reacted. Sadly this is symptomatic of the society we live in today when liberalism rules and humour is on the verge of being illegal in all walks of life. I am old enough to have served my nation, initially due to national service, but I chose to remain for another 12 years, finally leaving the service in 1971 at the ripe old age of 42 and I can tell you that some of the jokes we told about how people died in the Middle East, Malaysia and Suez would curl the toes of most people today. This was not to be disrespectful, many of those we joked about were friends or at least known to us, but it was simply our way of dealing with it as we had no other outlets for the stress.
I do not know anything about the author of the comment you found offensive, but I have found over the years that many people in very stressful jobs where death is ever present, such as Ambulance crews, Fireman, Military personnel, RNLI crews and Police have warped humour that many do not understand and perhaps it is possible that this fellow was a member of one of these services either now or in the past. I am not meaning to downplay their post, but simply try to not take it personal or be offended by it. We know nothing of them as a person, and to take it personal is simply creating stress for you that is pointless.
I do hope you understand what I am trying to say.
