Hi,

I have an oldish Wickes own brand jigsaw and have just blunted the last of the blades I bought years back. I bought a new lot of blades today and while it says they fit the Wickes jigsaws and numerous other brands, they don't fit my saw. Am I being an idiot or did Wickes change the blade type in the last few years. Guess I'll have to get another one if this is the case.

There are 3 basic types, bayonet, which have 2 nibs either side of the blade, universal, which are U shaped at the top and have a hole in, and another one which I don't remember. You don't need a new saw just new blades of the right type. Take the old ones back instore and make sure you buy ones that match. If Wickes don't have them try another store or local power tool specialist.
