I have a client with much higher pressure in their mains-fed cold than their tank-fed hot water, who wants their two showers boosted with pumps. Will pumps equalise the water pressure across the H&C or will it simply magnify the pressure of each the same? i.e. will I also need a Pressure Equaliser valve upstream or downstream from teh pump?

A pump won't bring down the cold pressure.
even with a prv fitted you can't put a pump on cold mains it's illegal.
take the cold from the cws and fit a pump to the hot/cold.

Thank you seco services, that's really good to know ... appreciate your advice. I'll take a new cold from the tank then pressures will be much more equal prior to pumping. Will just require a bit more plumbing thats all ... cheers
