I am going to install a Grohe 1000 thermo shower. I have a combi boiler, one bathroom. The water pressure is high, should I install a pressure reducing valve on the incoming mains or a pressure equalising valve before the shower.

If the combi is giving a satisfactory performance and everything else is OK, I would fit an adjustable restrictor or valve in the cold supply to the shower. This could be a partially closed isolation valve. Check that the shower is combi-compatible - that is more important than thermostatic, which may be for gravity only. Check with the shower supplier or Grohe.
