The block work for our extension is nearly complete.
Blocks used with 100mm full fill cavity (Knauf Earthwool DriTherm Cavity Slab 32 Ultimate)
are: Celcon Standard Blocks Plain Face - 440mm x 215mm
Since the heavy rain, the walls/blocks are standing in around 8 inches of water.
This is on the outer leaf and the inner leaf as there is no roof.
JUST A FEW QUESTIONS
As these blocks are apparently made up of millions of air holes, will the water penetrate
deep into the blocks?
If so, and the temperature drops to freezing - will the blocks split/crack open?
When the wall is completely finished it's to be rendered - but if these bottom blocks crack
does that mean all the walls would have to be pulled down and rebuilt?
Many thanks.
