I want to put a shed in my side alleyway, this will mean that a large area of my wall will have a shed wall about an inch away from it. The shed wall next to the wall will be 15ft long and 8ft high. There will be a pent roof on the shed directing water away from the house wall. The house is a 1980's brick house.
My wife is worried that having something that close to the wall may cause a damp issue as there will be very little airflow through the inch gap over the large area.
Is this something to worry about?

Thanks

As long as you direct the water away, ideally with a flashing or similar going 150mm above the highest surface on the shed, it should keep dry. Watch out for mice and rubbish getting in the gaps too.

The degree of splashback you get on to the house will vary with the circumstances. How high the house wall is, or big the eaves overhang, north facing, etc etc. You may also have a neighbours house making it very sheltered.
