Hi all thinking of replaceing a battered old wooden fence at bottom of my garden with these posts:

http://www.diy.com/nav/garden/fenci...fence_posts/Aluminium-Post-Kit-1-76m-11987901

and either getting the compiste panels to go in them or gravel board type bits of wood on top of each other to form the fence panel.

the fence post screws on to the metal base using six screws then the whole thing can be bolted on to the concrete patches I will put down.

Will this be sturdy enough?

thanks

In a word NO. Dig down and use concrete slotted posts/concrete gravel boards with new slide in panels.

it would probably be OK for a wire-netting fence, as long as nobody leant on it.

the one in their picture appears to be bolted to a paving slab, so it will fall over when the wind blows.
